EXP3: Lumion and SketchUp
Moving Elements
The gallery is suspended by an arm extended from the roof of the bridge. The gallery moves slowly across the length of the bridge to provide a smooth trip for the guests, allowing them to enjoy the scenery in the meantime.
The elevator shaft is a deconstructed box, being completely hollow, allowing for maximum transparency and creating an open atmosphere. The elevator is accessible from both sides, via glass doors, allowing for easy access.
The Plan
The eastern wing of the building features a fragmented glass roof, providing an abundance of natural light during the day, and maintains a sense of openness in almost every room. This is linked to my theory of the deconstruction of the box in architecture, as most of the rooms in the building have a missing face, replaced by glass.
The building enforces a strong sense of symmetry through its balance of masses on either side of the road. Area-wise, both sections of the building are approximately equal.
Visitors to the gallery are greeted by a complete view of the East and West wings of the building below.
