Before the first class

Having very little experience in the visual arts department, this sketch of the Arch of Constantine that I drew for Architectural History and Theory was amongst my first attempts at drawing a relatively complex structure. Although it was not very well received in the assessment, I was satisfied with my initial attempt at expanding my artistic abilities.

This is a photo of Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Japan, and is in my opinion, a wonderful example of what architectural feats humans are capable of achieving. I find it amazing that such an ancient structure is able to last through the centuries and still continue to attract visitors from all around the world. I sincerely hope that I am able to visit this masterpiece at least once in my life.

I was walking to school one day in year ten when I looked up at the sky and was blown away by how beautiful it was. It seemed as if the sky was being blanketed by a thin woollen sheet with the rising sun illuminating the thin silver lining of the cloud. Immediately, I reached for my phone and took a quick photo of the view, hoping to capture one of the most beautiful morning skies I had ever seen.
